Delhi High Court Chief Justice’s VC Proceedings Disturbed As Obscene Pornographic Content Played On Virtual Hearing Platform

Delhi High Court Chief Justice’s VC Proceedings Disturbed As Obscene Pornographic Content Played On Virtual Hearing Platform

On Wednesday, 29 April 2026, virtual‑court (VC) proceedings before Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia were repeatedly disrupted when an unidentified user played obscene pornographic content on the virtual hearing platform.

What happened

  • The incident occurred during a division‑bench hearing when a participant logged in under the name “Sh*tjeet Singh” (or similar) shared his screen and played pornographic videos on the VC, forcing the court staff to shut down the meeting.

  • After the VC was briefly resumed, the same user again shared pornographic material, and later also played audio‑only music, effectively interrupting the Chief Justice’s virtual hearing at least three times.

Technical and security aspects

  • The intruder’s screen share reportedly carried a message or background audio saying “You’ve been hacked” and “This is a hack from the United States… Shut the meeting right now,” heightening concerns about a possible cyber intrusion.

  • The Delhi High Court has filed a formal complaint with the Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) cyber wing; a preliminary probe is underway into unauthorized access and possible security flaws in the VC infrastructure.

Institutional response

  • Chief Justice Upadhyaya ordered stricter scrutiny of VC‑related protocols and instructed the Registrar General to take action against any unauthorized recording or broadcasting of court proceedings, which are otherwise prohibited.

  • Virtual hearings before the Chief Justice’s bench were temporarily suspended, and the court reportedly resumed only after locking all participants and disabling external screen‑sharing or external inputs to prevent further disruptions.
