Abhijeet Dipke Allegedly Slapped During Jaipur Protest; Two Detained as Demonstration Over Exam Issues Turns Chaotic
A protest in Jaipur led by Abhijeet Dipke turned chaotic on Monday after he was allegedly slapped and manhandled while arriving at the demonstration. The incident occurred at Shaheed Smarak, where hundreds of young protesters had gathered to raise concerns over alleged examination irregularities, including the alleged NEET paper leak, and unemployment.
According to police and eyewitness accounts, Dipke was being carried on the shoulders of supporters when some individuals from the crowd allegedly struck him. The situation quickly escalated as his supporters confronted the alleged attackers, resulting in a brief scuffle before police intervened. Authorities said two youths have been detained, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
Dipke Appeals for Non-Violence
Following the incident, Dipke addressed the gathering and urged his supporters not to retaliate with violence. He stated that physical attacks are signs of fear and insisted that his movement would continue peacefully despite such incidents.
He reportedly said that no matter how many attacks occur, they should not respond by raising their hands, adding that violence cannot silence their movement.
Protest Focused on Education and Employment
The demonstration was organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) as part of its nationwide campaign highlighting alleged examination paper leaks and unemployment concerns among young people. Protesters carried placards against corruption and alleged exam irregularities while demanding accountability from authorities. Slogans were also raised seeking the resignation of the Union Education Minister over these issues.
During his speech, Dipke criticized the handling of alleged examination irregularities and questioned the government’s response to paper leak allegations, arguing that students’ futures were being affected.
Another Participant Also Reportedly Assaulted
Reports indicate that another participant, Bewesh Adhikari from Sikkim, was also allegedly assaulted during the chaos and reportedly lost his mobile phone. He later thanked the police for intervening and helping restore order.
The Jaipur protest is part of a broader series of demonstrations organized by CJP across multiple cities, focusing on alleged examination irregularities and youth employment issues. The movement has recently expanded its campaign nationwide through protests and social media outreach.
As of the latest available reports, police have detained two individuals in connection with the alleged assault, and further investigation is continuing.
