He died just days before his 90th birthday, which would have been on December 8, 2025. Earlier, he had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in late October due to breathlessness and was discharged 12 days before his death.
His last rites were conducted at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai, attended by family and several Bollywood actors.
