Kerala Local Body Election Results 2025
Kerala local body elections occurred on December 9 and 11, 2025, with results declared on December 13. The Congress-led UDF made significant gains, outperforming the ruling LDF across most categories, while the BJP-led NDA achieved a historic win in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.
UDF secured four of six corporations (Kollam, Kochi, Thrissur, Kannur), 54 of 87 municipalities, 504 of 941 grama panchayats, 79 of 152 block panchayats, and seven of 14 district panchayats. LDF retained Kozhikode Corporation and leads in 347 grama panchayats, 63 block panchayats, along with some municipalities in traditional strongholds. NDA’s breakthroughs included Thiruvananthapuram Corporation (50 wards), Palakkad municipality, and Tripunithura.
UDF’s surge reflects a shift from LDF’s 2020 dominance, driven by urban and rural gains. NDA’s Thiruvananthapuram victory ended 45 years of Left control there.
