Over 800 people reported missing in Delhi in early 2026
Delhi Police data confirms that 807 people were reported missing in Delhi from January 1 to 15, 2026, averaging 54 per day.
Women and girls comprised 509 cases (nearly two-thirds), while men accounted for 298. Minors totaled 191, including 169 teenagers (138 girls), 13 children aged 8-12, and 9 under 8; adults made up 616.
Police traced 235 individuals, leaving 572 untraced as of late January 2026. Among minors, most remain missing, with 120 untraced girls under 18.
This aligns with 2025 trends, where 24,508 went missing (14,870 women), and over the past decade, 232,737 cases were reported with about 52,000 unresolved. Teenagers, especially girls, show rising numbers annually.
