Poem: International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th to honor the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide.
“International Women’s Day”
Rise, Women, Rise
On this day, we stand as one,
Honoring battles fought and won.
Voices silenced, now take flight,
Breaking barriers, claiming light.
Mothers, daughters, sisters strong,
Builders of a world lifelong.
Dreamers, leaders, hearts so bold,
Stories written, yet untold.
Through the struggles, through the strife,
You ignite the spark of life.
Chains unshackled, glass now shattered,
Dreams once whispered—now they matter.
No more waiting, no delay,
We accelerate the way.
For all women to rise tall,
With rights and power—fair for all.
So let the future brightly shine,
A world where women own their time.
Hand in hand, we pave the way,
Strong and free—forever stay.
Rise, women, rise!
A tapestry woven, thread by thread,
Of stories whispered, bravely said.
From ancient wisdom, to modern might,
Women rise, in radiant light.
On fields of science, in halls of art,
A beating pulse, a knowing heart.
Through trials faced, and battles won,
Their spirit shines, like rising sun.
A gentle hand, a voice so strong,
Righting the wrongs, where shadows throng.
For equal rights, a fervent plea,
A future forged, for all to see.
“Accelerate Action,” the voices call,
Break down the barriers, standing tall.
“Rights, Equality, Empowerment,”‘s cry,
Beneath one shared and boundless sky.
From mother’s love, to leader’s grace,
A strength that time cannot erase.
So let us celebrate, with joyful sound,
The women’s day, the world around.
On March 8, we gather round,
To celebrate the strength profound,
Of women worldwide, in every place,
Their achievements, a shining pace.
With hearts full of courage and might,
They stand tall, through day and night,
Breaking barriers, shattering glass,
Their voices heard, their stories passed.
From fields to factories, from homes to halls,
Their contributions echo through it all,
In science, art, and every sphere,
Their impact felt, their presence clear.
The United Nations calls to unite,
“For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment” in sight,
A future feminist, where none are left behind,
Where every girl can grow, with heart and mind.
And “Accelerate Action” we must do,
To speed the pace, to see it through,
Eliminate barriers, biases too,
So women’s equality can shine anew.
Today we honor their past and present might,
Their struggles, their triumphs, shining bright,
We celebrate the women who paved the way,
For a brighter tomorrow, starting today.
So let us raise our voices high,
In solidarity, we stand, side by side,
For a world where women are free to be,
Their best selves, wild and carefree.
Happy International Women’s Day,
A tribute to the strength in every way,
May equality and empowerment be the guide,
For women and girls, side by side.
