Vedanta Group chairman’s son Agnivesh Agarwal dies at 49
Agnivesh Agarwal, son of Vedanta Group chairman Anil Agarwal, passed away at age 49 due to a sudden cardiac arrest.
He had been recovering from a skiing accident in the US at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where the family believed the worst was over. The incident occurred recently, shocking the business community.
Anil Agarwal shared on X that it was “the darkest day of my life,” describing Agnivesh as healthy, energetic, and full of dreams. He renewed a pledge to dedicate over 75% of Vedanta’s earnings to social causes like food access, education, and women’s empowerment, a commitment he shared with his son.
Condolences came from figures like Union Minister Kiren Rijiju. Agnivesh served on the board of Talwandi Sabo Power Limited, a Vedanta company.
