Virginia Giuffre, Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein accuser, dies by suicide

Virginia Giuffre, Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein accuser, dies by suicide

Virginia Giuffre, the prominent accuser of Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew, died by suicide at the age of 41, her family announced. She passed away at her farm in Western Australia, where she had been living with her children and husband. Her family described her as a “fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking” and said the toll of abuse she endured became unbearable.

Giuffre was a key figure in exposing Epstein’s sex trafficking ring, alleging that Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to Prince Andrew when she was 17, claims that Prince Andrew has consistently denied. Epstein died by suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, and Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the trafficking.

In the weeks before her death, Giuffre had revealed she was suffering from renal failure following a serious car accident, which she said left her with only days to live. Despite her health struggles, she remained a vocal advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and trafficking.

Authorities in Western Australia confirmed they responded to a call about an unresponsive woman at Giuffre’s home and found no signs of foul play; her death is being treated as a suicide.

Giuffre is survived by her three children, who were described by her family as the light of her life. Her death marks a tragic end to the life of a courageous survivor and advocate who brought significant attention to the abuses committed by Epstein and his associates.
