Rajasthan Police probe alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak
Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) is investigating allegations of a NEET UG 2026 paper leak following reports of pre-exam question sets matching the actual paper conducted on May 3, 2026. Authorities recovered circulated materials with 100-140 questions—mainly in biology and chemistry—showing striking similarities, potentially worth up to 600 marks out of 720. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has stated the exam occurred under strict security protocols and is cooperating with the probe.
Investigators found a handwritten “guess paper” or question bank with over 300-400 questions circulating via WhatsApp, encrypted apps, and social media in areas like Sikar, Rajasthan, starting around May 1. This material was sold for Rs 5 lakh days before the exam and Rs 30,000 on May 2, raising suspicions of an organized syndicate rather than mere coaching predictions. No formal FIR has been filed yet, but digital trails and coaching links are under scrutiny.
SOG arrested alleged masterminds Babulal Katara (former RPSC member) and his nephew Anil Meena, who reportedly sold the leaked banks. The network allegedly spans Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Kerala (involving an MBBS student), and Maharashtra coaching hubs, with 14-20 detentions including counselors. A Rajasthan PG owner is also implicated for attempting a cover-up.
NTA dismissed early leak rumors before the exam and emphasized biometric verification, AI monitoring, and secure paper transport. As of May 11-12, 2026, the probe remains preliminary, with no confirmed leak but heightened fears amid past NEET controversies.
