India Padma Awards 2025: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Awards
The Padma Awards for 2025 have been officially announced, recognizing a total of 139 individuals for their exceptional contributions across various fields. The awards are categorized into three distinct levels: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.

Padma Vibhushan: Awarded for exceptional and distinguished service (7 recipients).
Padma Bhushan: Awarded for distinguished service of higher order (19 recipients).
Padma Shri: Awarded for distinguished service in any field (113 recipients).
These awards are among India’s highest civilian honors and are conferred based on recommendations from the Padma Awards Committee, constituted annually by the Prime Minister. The recipients are honored during a ceremonial function at Rashtrapati Bhawan, typically held in March or April.

Padma Bhushan Recipients
Includes notable figures such as former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, economist Bibek Debroy, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, and cricketer R. Ashwin.
Padma Shri Recipients
Among the awardees are singer Arijit Singh, former SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya, and publisher Lakshmipathy Ramasubbaiyer, recognized for their contributions in literature and journalism.
The list includes 23 women and 10 individuals from foreign backgrounds or Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). There are also 13 posthumous awards given this year.
